My name is Peter Keppler and I practice in the areas of Environmental, Natural Resources, and Business Law. I advise businesses on compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations, conduct environmental audits and due diligence investigations, and develop environmental management systems. I also assist individuals and businesses incorporate and organize limited liability companies (LLCs), prepare business agreements and contracts, advise on keeping corporate books and records, and counsel on general business matters.
I have had broad experience in private practice and as a corporate attorney. Prior to establishing my own law practice in early 1997, I was special counsel for nearly six years with the national law firm Popham, Haik, Schnobrich and Kaufman. From 1971 to 1991, I served in various positions with AMAX Inc., an international mining and manufacturing company with facilities and operations in North America, Europe and Australia. During my last five years with Amax, I served as Assistant General Counsel and managed the Western Area Law Department. From 1969 to 1971, I was an associate attorney with the Denver law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen, where I practiced mining and oil and gas law. I am a member of the natural resources and environmental sections of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association; currently Chair the Editorial Board of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation Journal; Co-Chair the Colorado Mining Association Air Quality Committee; and am past president of the Colorado Hazardous Waste Management Society.
